DocSend: per user on the lower plans, flat on the data room tiers

DocSend charges per user on Personal ($15 a month) and Standard ($65 a month), both billed monthly. Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms are flat plans with 3 users included, then $90 per extra user a month; Advanced Data Rooms is $300 a month billed monthly. DocSend says it is part of Dropbox and lists eSignature on every plan.

On audit logs the tiers do not line up. Advanced Data Rooms adds an audit log and automatic file indexing; on Papermark both start at Data Rooms Plus, $399 a month billed monthly with 5 team members. Papermark vs DocSend sets the two vendors side by side.

Digify and ShareFile: rooms with caps or user minimums

Digify Pro is $190 a month billed monthly for 1 user, 3 data rooms and 50 guests; Team is $500 a month billed monthly for 3 users, 10 data rooms and 200 guests. Billed annually, they are $140 and $350 a month. Digify says its rights management lets you keep control of a file after a data room download. Digify alternatives covers that vendor in more depth.

ShareFile's Virtual Data Room plan is $77.00 per user a month paying monthly, with a minimum of 5 users, so five users come to $385 a month. It lists watermarking and NDA enforcement, and its storage is 1 GB per license.

Ansarada and Firmex: priced by data, term or project

Ansarada prices a room by data volume and term. Its 250 MB room is $479 a month on a 1-month term, or $329 a month on a 6-month term, billed as $1,974 every 6 months. Payment starts when the room goes live or 90 days after creation, plan changes happen only at the end of a term, and the prices exclude GST. Set its currency control to US dollars to see this table.

Firmex shows no price: its pricing page offers a quote for a one-time single-project fee or an annual subscription, set by the data and the project length.

For a sale room open six months with NDAs, watermarks and file-level permissions, Papermark Data Rooms lists all three plus groups: $1,074 for six months billed monthly, a flat plan with 3 team members included. Ansarada's 250 MB tier is $1,974 on its 6-month term, priced by data volume rather than seats, and Firmex sets its price by quote. An illustration, not a forecast. NDA gates and watermarks are room controls, not legal protection.

Where Papermark still fits better

Papermark suits founders and small deal teams who want page-by-page view data, a Free plan to start and a flat bill: Papermark says no plan carries a per-viewer charge, so the bill follows the people who manage the room. Its limit is the audit log and the Q&A module, where visitors ask questions next to the document, which start at Data Rooms Plus, not Data Rooms.

Pick DocSend for a Dropbox team that wants eSignature in the same account, Digify for rights management that Digify says stays on files after download, and Ansarada or Firmex for a formal sale that needs project support. Before switching away, Papermark's data room plans can be tried free for 7 days. Best virtual data room for small business sorts the wider field by how each bills.
